The Warehouse Operator will be responsible for the incoming and outgoing of materials, reagents, instruments, or equipment to meet customer expectations which involve receiving, shipping, and inventory/material control. Performs manual and/or clerical duties that may utilize various systems, WMS involved in receipt or preparation of materials for shipment. Performs a wide variety of planning, scheduling, coordinating, and reporting tasks in support of the manufacturing workflow. Coordinates and monitors workflow, assisting in scheduling and prioritizing activities in assigned distribution area. Maintains compliance with relevant local, country, and international guidelines.
This position is part of the Operations/Plant Management Organization and will be located onsite in Carlsbad, CA as part of the Manufacturing Team.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Sustains warehouse continuous improvement projects for procedures and guidelines related to receiving, handling, storage, recording and dispatch of materials in the warehouse, aligning the efforts with available space, the site inventory management system, and Danaher guidelines.
Supports warehouse daily management (DM) meetings with the Material Planning team; prepare warehouse portion of +QDIP board (Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Production) for site review daily.
Prepare documentation & presentations to support continuous improvement efforts and inventory counts using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Assist with Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) process/system to ensure successful material handling flow between the warehouse, QC inspection, and manufacturing labs.
Receive incoming goods, check for damage and discrepancies between goods and invoices. On occasion flex to assist with Manufacturing Production in periods of high volume/deadlines to help overall site goals.
While using machinery/equipment, conduct inventory counts; participate in inventory events (counting, entering/updating, etc.). Accurately sort, label, and store goods; arrange storage at specific locations to optimize warehouse space.
Maintain a safe, pleasant, and efficient work environment; comp with company and regulatory EHS requirements. Deliver hazardous chemicals from Warehouse to laboratory, correctly utilizing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
The essential requirements of the job include:
High School or GED and 2+ years Business/Operations, Materials Management and/or Manufacturing experience required. Some computer skills either with: Oracle (or similar ERP) and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes involving filling and packaging as well as manufacturing schedules and cGMP training requirements (ISO 9001). Experience with deploying DMS or equivalent based methods in operations. Lift up to 25lbs.
Dedication to customer satisfaction, acting with tact and diplomacy.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Strong organizational skills. The ability to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), and Quality System Regulations (QSR’s).
Strong listening, verbal, and interpersonal skills when dealing with internal and external customers, vendors, suppliers.
