Job Description
The Strategy VP, Director leads & manages the strategy and planning process for one of our largest clients here. The VP, Director is a leader who contributes to marketing and media strategy, builds solid relationships with clients and internal partners across all levels and functions, and is able to manage, lead, and develop their internal strategy team. Role Objectives:
Knowledge & Experience

Maintain in-depth knowledge of current media industry news and brand business (current and historical perspectives) with a focus on upstream initiatives
Understanding of the consumer journey with experience in developing successful marketing and media strategies across the entire purchase journey
Experience with MMM, ROI Models, Brand Tracking Studies, media attribution models and research, interpreting data and applying learning to media strategies and recommendations.
Experience and strong foundations in audience insights, competitive, media measurement (R&F) tools and resources
Experience and ability to elevate strategic thinking across the portfolio and set appropriate learning agenda elements
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills to achieve client business and marketing goals, but internal process enhancements
Experience and ability to successfully lead a team and develop strategic thinking in a fast past environment

Responsibilities

Drive Innovation and a Thought Leadership agenda both as a new business asset but equally within the agency to drive modern marketing solutions for our clients.
Develop and present thought leadership/POVs, to inform & educate internal teams and clients
Analyze client’s business situation and consumer insights, and work with internal groups to lead business case development
Lead and ensure the team delivers sound strategic media recommendations based on a clear understanding of brand objectives and supported by data and insights
Work with audience and insights, and data and analytics teams to identify/apply learnings and the investment and operations teams to ensure flawless implementation
Strong verbal and written communication to clearly articulate thoughts, POVs, recommendations to clients and within the agency, in formal and informal presentations and meetings
Facilitate internal and client workshops and brainstorms with energy that drives desired outcomes.
Provide vision, direction, management and support to individuals within the team to ensure their work aligns with our mission and goals
Strong leadership and communication skills to mentor and train subordinates and work collaboratively with internal agency partners
Assess processes and ways of working, identifying and implementing new approaches to increase efficiency and effectiveness

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in advertising, marketing, business, psychology, or similar area; graduate degree preferred
10+ years of experience in media planning/strategy with progressive levels of responsibility
5+ years of previous management experience
Ability to strategically plan campaigns to align with clients strategic goals and KPIs
Pitch experience with proven track record
Experience across all media types (national, local, digital, direct, programmatic, shopper, etc.)
Ability to anticipate and quickly assess continually changing client needs and adapt resources and strategies accordingly
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills
Ability to translate data into viable business solutions to enhance strategies and meet deliverables
Excellent leadership ability to drive team to deliver results
