Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Urban Planner for employment to be a part of our staff augmentation group for a client that resides in Austin, Texas. Candidate must live in Austin Texas for this position and be willing to sit in the client’s office 3 days of the week, while the other 2 can be flexible to be a work from home situation.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Have the ability to work under general direction, work independently, and be self-motivated
Able to carry out complex professional planning work in the areas of transportation planning
Understand how to read site design plans
Reviews and processes complex comprehensive plan amendments, rezoning, annexations, site plans and plats
Have familiarity in reading city ordnance codes and be able to identify why site plans are within or without compliance based on the city ordnance codes
Comfortable providing digital marks up
Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing a dynamic workload
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in assignments.
Skill in planning and organizing, data analysis and problem solving.Interest in city practice, policy and procedures and the principles of urban planning.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with major coursework in Planning, Geography, or an engineering-related field, plus two(2) years of experience in planning related work.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Masters Degree in Urban Planning.
