We’re looking for someone to join our team as a Supervisor, Staffing who:
Under the direction of the Staffing Manager, coordinates the day-to-day operations of the staffing office. Ensures coordination and distribution of timely, accurate schedules that provide for appropriate staffing with employees and supplemental staff. Assesses and forecasts staffing needs for short and long-term coverage, matching float, per diem and registry staff skills. Demonstrates a high level of customer focus when working with Directors, House Supervisors, and Nurse Managers. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.
Essential Functions:
Oversees the posting/creation of preliminary schedules in the system for each unit to ensure adherence to timelines. Utilizes part time, Per Diem and float pool staff to fill deficits created by unfilled positions, requested time off, leaves of absence. Reviews all schedules to ensure they are accurate and balanced. Creates and maintains monthly staffing coordinator schedules. Keeps department schedule current by monitoring staff attendance, late arrivals, etc. Identifies and communicates to the Staffing Office Manager deficit demand needs requiring the posting of additional positions by specialty and unit, including float pool.
Manages travel nurse requests and profile management. In collaboration with the unit nurse managers, identifies department traveler needs and works with contracted registries to obtain qualified profiles, secures commitments to assignments, and facilitates onboarding of traveler staff. Tracks travelers in-house by department, shift, assignment dates, etc. Makes recommendations for continuation/discontinuation of contracts or new contracts as needed. Oversees traveler and local registries processes and paperwork to ensure full compliance with hospital standards. Verifies travelers and local registry sign-in/timecard sheets with hours worked, location/department to be charged, and rate to be paid on a scheduled basis. Provides orientation process and evaluations for registry/travel/dialysis/Peripherally-inserted Central Catheter (PIC line) nurses and Hospice staff.
Oversees Staffing Office and Coordinators, acting as a supervisor and resource. Fills in as Staffing Coordinator as needed. Collaborates with line management in the interview, hiring, orientation, and evaluation processes. Completes staff evaluations, counseling, oversees department budget, schedule and customer service aspects of office management. Oversees Student Nurse Float Pool for work scheduling. Organizes and leads Staffing Office staff meetings and education sessions including minutes at least monthly.
Serves as primary resource for the scheduling program maintenance and trouble-shooting. Generates census, absenteeism and other relevant reports, scheduling system updates and ongoing education as necessary. Generates, updates and resolves discrepancies in daily staffing reports. Audits use of shift notes and scheduling adjustments.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
Master’s Degree: Preferred
Work Experience:
Five years technical experience: Preferred
