Job Description :
SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Special Events Manager, the Special Events Associate is responsible for providing event-based support to the Fund Development department. This position will be responsible for a broad range of activities related to special events management, implementation, fundraising solicitation, gift processing, donor acknowledgement and recognition, and overall administrative support that will result in increased financial support for the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The Special Events Associate is focused on fundraising events (Anniversary Celebration and Pool Toss), Grand Openings, Groundbreakings, and other special events.

Meets weekly with Special Events Manager to report on events tasks
Assist Communications Manager with event materials
Assist with Event Production segments including but not limited to: online donations, event websites, entertainment, and other event components that are audience facing.
Assist with event tracking documents including but not limited to sponsorships, donations, and ticket sales
Assist in processing vendor contracts and invoices in Yardi and Concur
Assist with other special events
Participate in all Fund Development staff activities, such as biweekly staff meetings
Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS

Proficiency with donor databases, Raisers Edge familiarity preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to organize, prioritize multiple tasks and projects, and handle confidential materials.
Sensitivity to the diverse populations of TNDC (its tenants and staff) of the Tenderloin, and of San Francisco.
Ability to work within a very diverse workplace and to relate to a broad spectrum of people outside of TNDC, from low-income residents to major donors and Board members.
Knowledge of issues affecting poor and disenfranchised people.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Two to three years of event experience.
Two years of college and two years of professional experience in non-profit development or relevant field.
