Job Summary:
Seeking a Finance Manager to lead various programs within the Strategic Missiles & Defense Mission Area. This leader will join our dynamic Integrated Missile Defense Systems (IMDS) Finance Team as the lead for our Command & Control (C2S) business. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing requirements. In this role, you will serve as the Finance manager to several programs and business areas, including management of C2S portfolio of mostly international DCS & FMS programs, along with the National Team program.

This Business Manager requires proactive leadership that has responsibility for strategic direction input as well as tactical day-to-day financial product review and operational decision-making. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing the financial forecasting and reporting, variance analysis, presenting at business level reviews, Earned Value Management and compliance, Estimates at Completion (EACs), proposal oversight & new business capture, and working with internal and external customers. Also, managing the program finance team by hiring, developing, coaching/mentoring, and rotating employees.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable producing individual work product, analysis and in use of system tools; but be able to lead group by setting expectations and cadence to effectively operate. Additionally, a candidate for this role should possess strong technical knowledge of finance and program controls, strong problem-solving abilities and good communication skills. The position will have frequent interaction with senior level leaders and functional managers, and ability to partner with those managers will be imperative to ensure businesses and programs are running efficiently, while collaboratively problem-solving and proactively managing risk.

This role is being offered in a fully remote capacity. The preferred candidate will be within a commutable distance to an RTX facility, but is not required.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Provide vision; lead and supervise a team of Financial Managers & Analysts
Effective management of day-to day operations while maintaining a strategic focus driven by meeting/exceeding business financial goals and commitments
Finance staffing, coaching and building team strength
Estimate at Complete (EAC) – Support the development, review and approval various program EACs with all contract types and various customers
New Business capture – Proposal development & Gate review & approval
Financial Forecasting/FP&A – AOP & Long-Range Plan (LRP) Development
Investment planning – Manage and provide oversight of investment portfolio (Capital, IR&D, NBI) for executing to strategic plan
Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) variance analysis, data reviewing and reporting
Participate and lead in Contract Close-outs and Terminations
Participation and support in weekly and monthly program & functional business reviews to ensure business efficiency and risk mitigation.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or a related field; MBA is preferred
Typically requires 10 years of professional experience; OR an advanced degree and 7 years of professional experience
Experience in financial analysis in a highly matrixed organization
Experience in a Defense or Aaerospace industry

Qualifications We Value:

International (FMS & DCS) Contract Experience
Demonstrated experience meeting critical deadlines
Strong interpersonal/communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate to all levels of organization
Ability to quickly analyze data to assist in prudent business decision making
Ability to obtain a secret clearance
Experience in leadership, specifically on a highly-visible program
Experience on a large development program
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
