Position Summary: At Almaden Genomics, we know that a key to growth is a high-performing sales team. That’s why we’re seeking a capable sales development representative (SDR) to qualify and generate new sales leads from online sources and prospecting tools, through phone calls, and in-person events such as conferences. As the first line of communication with prospects, ideal SDRs have a strong understanding of the sales process, excelling at researching leads, starting new relationships, and setting our sales closers up for success. You should be a quick learner with strong communication skills and have the ability to showcase our offerings in a compelling way. A successful SDR will be customer driven; helping researchers overcome bioinformatics challenges, have a hunter mindset, be open/flexible to learning and successfully applying new concepts, and driven to exceed specified goals.
Almaden Genomics sales and marketing teams are aligned as one in driving customer acquisition and conversion. As such, the Sales Development Representative (SDR) will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and will be located in the Dallas office.

Develop an understanding of Almaden Genomics technology, outreach processes and messaging, and market segments.
Identify new business prospects from online resources as well as look for qualifying events (new product launch, leadership change, new round of funding, etc), and recent grant award recipients.
Qualify target prospects and initiate interest and engagement via telephone, pre-recorded video outreach, LinkedIn, email, and in-person interactions at conferences
Develop and deploy unique execution strategies to obtain commitment from prospective customers to speak with the sales team
Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested prospects and engage sales executives for next steps
Identify best practices to refine the company’s lead generation playbook
Manage accurate data and record keeping in the CRM to increase customer satisfaction and brand penetration
Collaborate with team members to achieve and succeed departmental goals.
Receive, manage, and transact all leads from marketing initiatives and inbound inquiries via phone or email.
Provide help with putting together tradeshow material, packaging, and shipment.
Background must include familiarity with genetics or bioinformatics
2-3 years of sales experience, preferably with SaaS with a history of exceeding lead targets
Strong communication skills via phone and email
Proven creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills
Strong desire and ability to move up within a sales organization
A love of cold-calling and confidence on the phone with the ability to consistently get past the gatekeeper and overcome initial objections
Persistent in outreach efforts and comfortable with rejections
Comfortable with recording individualized prospecting videos
Excels at or quickly learns digital prospecting tools and in-person prospecting at conferences
Is a people-person, loves to network and engage with new and existing customers
Extremely organized and responds to external/internal communications promptly
Travel to conferences/tradeshows, as needed
Must have a B.A. or B.S., preferably in a Business or Science related field.
