Job Description :
This is a temporary/on-call position, in the Human Resources office.
This position provides additional assistance to support program needs. These needs can vary from clerical and reception duties to outreach and eligibility for services. This position requires availability for short- and long-term assignments (not to exceed six (6) months).
Assist in the fulfillment of the Agency’s vision, “For Those We Serve,” by empowering individuals who thrive as healthy, self-sufficient and contributing members of our communities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This position may be responsible for duties in addition to ‘General Duties’ including but not limited to all listed below.
Follows general direction and performs duties as given by the supervisor of the assignment.
Interacts and communicates with staff and clients. Provides general information and/or refers to appropriate staff.
Operates office equipment, including but not limited to, multiple phone lines, computer, and copier/scanner/fax machines.
Distributes and retrieves reports and correspondence.
Provides front desk coverage as needed.
Uses multiple phone line system to answer calls, take messages, and route appropriately.
Greets staff and clients cordially; directs accordingly.
Prints, sorts, files and manages paperwork as directed.
Provides required data entry and word processing support.
Provides accurate information and/or education materials pertaining to the program, the agency and its resources to clients and the general public.
Provides program services at off-site locations and events.
For programs with tangible services: may be required to assist in assembly/packaging of items to provide to clients (diaper and food distributions etc).
Provides intake/eligibility services by collecting required documents during eligibility process.
Ensures required documentation is on file.
Follows up with staff/clients for needed documentation.
Notifies assignment supervisor/staff of discrepancies, errors and other pertinent information regarding files.
Processes files for further review, approval, completion etc.
Travels for agency business using personal transportation.
Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
Works evenings and weekends as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum one year of experience related to the assignment duties.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related business software. Ability to accurately type 35 words per minute, based on assignment.
Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
Bilingual in English/Spanish or other secondary language may be required based on the needs of clients and the program
Willing to work non-traditional hours and days to meet the needs of this position.
Maintain a valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, adequate auto insurance as required by State law, and insurability by agency carrier for those driving agency vehicles.
COVID-19 vaccination required within 60 days of hire, unless approved for religious or medical exemption.
May need to pass background and/or fingerprint checks depending on the assigned program’s requirements.
