Job Description :
*** This is an exciting role for an individual looking to not only continue production experience but gain experience in the set up of a brand new production facility. This will be the first team member of the new production facility with direct partnership with the Plant Manager and Director of Operations. Will also include the ability to be cross trained to learn warehouse to grow career. ***
Summary and Objective:
As a member of the Production Team, a Production Laborer – Freeze Drying is responsible for performing production processes while following safety, quality, and efficiency standards. The Production Laborer – Freeze Drying is responsible for various tasks including loading and unloading trays, preparing trays in the freeze dryer, and completing freeze dryer turnover tasks to prepare for new production cycles.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Participates in the freeze drying production processes to maintain daily workflow and completion of assignments to meet production output of daily, weekly, and monthly goals, to ensure customer needs are met.
Works with team to achieve hourly and daily reporting of performance metrics
Maintains knowledge of processes and equipment while complying with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures and notifies management when issues arise.
Complies with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment while ensuring quality, quantity, and customer satisfaction.

Experience:

Experience working in a production or warehouse environment, food production preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Personal Characteristics:

Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively
Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of Food safety and sanitation protocols and procedures
Ability and willingness to work in a team environment
Ability to follow instructions and accurately complete documentation in a timely manner is required
Ability to arrive to work on-time and being reliable on a daily basis
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
As needed, must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays as required in emergencies and all other times as needed or assigned.

Food Safety & Quality Responsibilities:

Follow the proper hand-washing, sanitization, cleanliness, dress and grooming requirements.
Adhere to SQF, FSMA, Sanitation, GMP’s and HACCP requirements.
Follow the Company’s procedures and processes for food safety and worker safety.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly work within a plant environment. The work requires the ability to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and talk and listen. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The environment can vary in temperature.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud in plant.
Work Location / Travel:
The position is based FT in assigned production facility with ability to also cross-train and work in warehouse.
