Job Description :
We are seeking a high-energy, positive individual to join our HR team as our new Payroll Specialist. The ideal candidate should be detail- and people-oriented, well-organized, able to multi-task, have a team mindset, have an understanding of account reconciliation and GL reporting, be comfortable running reports out of payroll systems, as well as have at least 5 years of experience in processing a bi-weekly, multi-state payroll. Some manual entry of employee time into the timekeeping system will be required. This position will also be responsible for entering child support withholdings and other garnishments, advances, time off for employees, processing new employees, terminations & other changes in the payroll system, and assist with payroll-related requests such as employment verifications, state & Buruea of Labor Statistics wage surveys, etc. ADP experience is preferred, but not required.
As with any role in the HR field, the ability to maintin a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism at all times is a must. The ideal candidate should also be able to demonstrate the ability to:

Maintain accuracy and attention to detail
Quickly identify and solve problems
Be a self-starter, hold him or herself accountable, and work rather autonomously
Effectively plan, organize and prioritize work activities
Communicate & respond to requests clearly, effectively and timely
Work in MS Excel at an intermediate level or above
Be willing to assist the HR department with other requests as needed

Work Environment:

Office building in The Woodlands
Hours can be flexible, but the job is in-office and not eligible for remote work on a regular basis

Education & Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in HR, finance, accounting or busienss is required (HR exerpeience preferred)
Five (5) years of prior payroll experience is required (ADP preferred)

Pay & Job Type:
This is a full-time, salaried position with an expectation of working 40 hrs a week in the office. Annual salary range is $60,000-70,000, depending on level of experience.
Benefits:
The hired candidate will be eligible for medical coverage on the first day of the month following the date of employment with as low as $0 employee contributions (depending on the plan selected), able to contribute to a 401k within 90 days of employment, and will be eligible for paid holidays plus sick leave & vacation time immediately upon starting.
