Job Description :
The Riverside Transit Agency is recruiting for one vacancy in the Procurement Department. The Parts Clerk is responsible for typing, filing, recording, pulling and issuing of parts, receiving and putting parts away in stock room and assimilating data concerning the Maintenance Department, and maintaining records in the computer system as needed. Operating a forklift, using a pallet jack and dolly to transport parts. The position is a warehouse work environment where it is typically cooler in the winter and warmer in the summer. The position works out of the Riverside and Hemet Offices. Position requires availability to work schedules that include weekends, holidays, and all shifts. Shifts are bid on by seniority and may change based on business needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties include but not limited to:
Typical duties will include maintaining computer files or other stock inventory records;
Physical parts inventory as required; CYCLE COUNTS
Running errands to pick-up and deliver parts;
Keeping day-to-day maintenance records current on buses and non-revenue equipment;
Notifying Storeroom Supervisor of services due as determined from mileage records;
Typing and filing of maintenance and purchasing matters as required by the Department
Moving and lifting items 35 pounds or less
Performing other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Graduation from high school or its equivalent with at least one (1) year of experience in parts inventory control required. Two years of parts inventory control experience is highly preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION A current valid non-restricted Class C Driver’s License is required. Additionally, a drivers’ history printout (issued not more than 30 days prior to date of application) must be provided with the application. You must obtain the official driving history from a branch of the DMV (K4). The driving history must be clear of suspensions for any reason within the past five (5) years and have no more than three (3) points within the past five (5) years and no two (2) point violations. No accidents which applicant contributed to cause within 3 years from your application date. Have appeared in court as required. The online driving history report will NOT be accepted and result in your application not being accepted. Forklift certification is preferred. OTHER REQUIREMENTS Positions require availability to work schedules that include weekends, holidays, and all shifts.

The Riverside Transit Agency contracts with the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) to administer the retirement benefits. The current benefit factor formula for all new hires is 2% at 62. Employees with previous CalPERS membership or membership with another employer who has established reciprocity with CalPERS may be eligible for the 2% at 55 benefit factor formula.
