Job Description :
The Medical Assistant assists our Physician and Nursing staff in the clinic with documenting the patient encounter into the EMR system. They also perform various patient care tasks, and exhibit teamwork characteristics with Physicians and other staff members. Additional clinical and administrative tasks include (but are not limited to):

Greets patients and takes them back to rooms
Performs general nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures
Interviews patients, measures vital signs and records information on patients charts
Assists patients will filling out procedure consent forms
May draw and collect blood or urine samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab analysis
Prepares examination rooms and maintains daily cleaning list
Schedules patients for diagnostic testing and follows up to ensure completion of testing
Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures, explains process and positions patients to capture images requested by Physician
Communicates with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by Physician
Formulates and documents patient care plans, charts, tests and examination results in the medical record
Escalates non-routine issues to the Office Manager or Physician
Some travel may be included to various clinics in the surrounding areas.

Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients
Demonstrate sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations
Maintains a positive, caring attitude towards patients
Good computer skills using a medical management application & prior experience with EMRs preferred
Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
Demonstrates initiative, insight, and judgement in decision-making process
Knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation & procedures

Educational & Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Related Medical Assistant experience preferred but not required
Will train candidates with desire to learn, dedication and commitment
Valid Drivers License required

Compensation

$16 – $20/hour, based on experience
