Alameda Health System is hiring! The Manager of Stroke Programs is responsible for directing, evaluating, and providing feedback to professional level employees who participate in the operation of the Alameda Health System Stroke Program.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: Following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by everyone in the classification.
Supervises staff and manages employee performance; provides on-going performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills; monitors workflow.
Develops and establishes operational and strategic goals and objectives consistent with the American Heart and Stroke Association, The Joint Commission for Accreditation, and AHS, including performance improvement and a patient safety program.
Coordinates the development, implementation, review, and revision of Stroke Program standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
Incorporates knowledge of AHA Guidelines as well as emerging science and evidence-based practice into Stroke Program standards.
Initiates and monitors, regulatory requirements and ensures requirements of The Joint Commission for stroke certification are achieved.
Continually assesses all services, identifies problems, and utilizes data to analyze and install approaches and performance improvement initiatives.
Oversees the creation and implementation of delivery models for the transitions of complex patients between multiple specialty and primary care providers and between healthcare settings and home.
Oversees strategic and clinical projects as it relates to the Stroke and Teleneurology Programs.
Formulates objectives, goals, and strategies for the growth and development of the Teleneurology Program in collaboration with Teleneurology leadership.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Required Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing program.
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Required Experience: Three years of relevant experience with stroke care; experience in program development and coordination within a complex organization.
Preferred Experience: Intensive Care Unit experience; experience with Data management systems; clinical experience in working with patients who have experienced stroke.
Required Licenses/Certifications: CNRN – Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse; ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification – issued by AHA; BLS – Basic Life Support Certification issued by the AHA; NIH Stroke Scale Certification; valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
