SUMMARY:

The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The HR Generalist will assist the Director of HR to ensure overall human resources strategic planning and tactical efforts toward best practices in the industry and in the HR field.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
:

Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; affirmative action planning and execution; and training and development
Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
Incorporates effective relationships with third party vendors and other associates in human resources
Provides basic support to the business for compensation and benefit issues
Conducts first-day new hire orientation, including I-9 verification completion and explanation of documentation and benefits to new employees
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
Advises the Director of HR on the impact of strategies, tactics, and regulations as they could potentially impact the interest, motivation, development, and retention of employees within the organization
Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments
Assist with the budget and other financial measures of the Human Resources Department
Provides problem solving resolutions for employee concerns and issues
Assist with employee recognition programs
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
Establishes credibility throughout the organization with all members of the company
Enhances, enforces, and implements the company’s human resources policies and procedures by providing systems to improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the company (i.e. HRIS)
Maintains knowledge of HR policies, programs, and laws
Maintains ethical behavior and conduct
Ensures policies, legislation and procedures are adhered to: including company SOPs,
21 CFR Part 11 and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, as appropriate to position
Performs other duties as required

This position demonstrates leadership ability by acting as an important part of the Aytu BioPharma, Inc. management team.

Supervision: receive guidance with respect to general objectives; operate as a self-starter and determine work sequence, scheduling, and how to achieve objectives of assignments while operating within specific policy guidelines.

Proficient with Microsoft Office, HRIS and Payroll systems

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required

Experience:

At least three years of human resource management experience preferred
At least three years’ experience working with an HRIS system preferably ADP Workforce Now
Certificate (PHR, SPHR) in Human Resources a plus
Experience in a public company environment a plus

Working Environment

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Physical Activities:

Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
