Eurofins Agroscience Services is seeking a Field Scientist to join our team in Sanger, CA.

Job Description
Field Scientist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Participate and monitor studies placed within organization
Maintain study data and facility records in organized manner
Properly handle and apply pesticides
Grow and maintain various vegetables
Assure accurate and complete collection of study data and report timely to Sponsors
Use of sponsor e-notebooks and other data collection hardware/software
Participate in periodic GLP training
Use of study management database, as required
Supervision of field/lab staff, as assigned
Domestic travel will be required

Qualifications
The ideal candidate would have:

Experience with agricultural commodity production.
Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

B.S. degree in an appropriate field (e.g. biology, environmental science, agricultural sciences such as Plant Science, Agronomy, Plant Pathology, Entomology, or chemistry).
Knowledge of growing cycles of row crops such as vegetables, vines, tree fruit and nut crops.
Familiarity with farming operations.
Ability to stand, sit, bend, lift and walk for hours in the field
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to drive company’s pickup trucks
Ability to work extended hours during time critical periods
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
