This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Document Control Specialist for our Houston, TX office. Be involved in projects with our Energy Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
File, organize, proof, and submit all documents associated with assigned projects. Projects can range from drilling, construction, engineering design, permitting, well workover operations, and mechanical integrity testing (MIT). Documents include, but are not limited to, end of well reports, engineering specifications, MIT reports, permit applications, drawings, meeting minutes, construction close out documents, contracts, certificates of insurance, etc. In addition to supporting the projects with contract and insurance help, the position will be responsible to update and maintain the contract data base as well as, participate in the annual renewal of insurance certificates.
Job Duties include:
Filing relevant documents in electronic files and/or offsite storage warehouses.
Recording meeting minutes and submitting to stakeholders.
Assemble and file well reports with all required information (logs, test reports, etc)
Assist engineers in obtaining appropriate specifications for engineering design.
File and track drawing revisions and set up transmittals for deliverables to the client.
Proofread and assist in the assembly of permitting documents, as needed.
Work with the legal department to update and maintain the contract data base based on new contracts, amendments, and renewals.
Assist the insurance group in the semiannual renewal of certificates of insurance, providing needed updates, if necessary.
Perform other document related tasks as directed by the Project Managers.
Skills required:
Attention to detail, reviewing for accuracy
Ability to multi-task
Organizing and handling a large volume of documents
Good working knowledge of Microsoft office and SharePoint
Skills preferred:
Knowledge of engineering and drilling specifications is a definite plus.
Contract and insurance experience is not required but is a plus.
Knowledge of drawing specifications and revision procedures.
Minimal travel but occasional after-hours work will be required. Prefer local (Houston area, Park Row office) candidate as a minimum of 3 days in the office is required.
