Description: Job Title: Director of Practice Operations Location: AdministrationDepartment: UCOE Administration FLSA Status: ExemptReports To: Chief Executive Officer Job Status: Regular Full TimeJOB PURPOSE: Leadership and management of the business and clinical operations for UCOE practice sites. Responsible to plan, direct, and coordinate patient care activities to maintain high standard of patient care, and works with medical director related to clinical services.
*JOB FUNCTIONS: *

Develops, implements, and evaluate processes to ensure effective and efficient use of staff, facilities, equipment, and other resources while maintaining patient care standards.
Consults with medical director on patient care policies to ensure patient needs are met.
Plans and organizes orientation and in-service training for staff members, and participates in guidance and educational programs.
Leads and directs Practice Site Managers who oversee day to day operations of practice sites.
Observe procedures and make appropriate suggestions and recommendations for improving techniques, policies, and procedures.
Formulates budget based on appropriate workload indicators and anticipated revenues in conjunction with Management.
Monitors and controls practice site costs to maintain expenditures.
Responsible to develop high performing office managers to include ongoing education and training.
Works with office managers on hiring and training of clinical personnel.
Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of clinical personnel.
Engages with medical directors and office managers to establish physician schedules and office staff work schedules according to workload, space and equipment availability.
Develop and implement organizational policies and procedures for clinical areas in conjunction with medical directors.
Review and analyze clinical activities by developing key indicators for office managers to know their performance expectations and report monthly.
Establish key indicators and work with office managers to be responsible to meet expectations to assure high performing practice with excellent patient satisfaction.
Work collaboratively with marketing to establish and improve internal and external physicians/offices.
Ensures UCOE’s regulatory standards are followed and develops methods for meeting standards effectively in accordance with the needs of the department and the organization. Promotes office staff awareness of standards and facilitates development of required skills/processes for ongoing compliance.

Requirements: Education

Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of management experience. Master’s degree for upper compensation range.

Experience

Five plus years of experience in management and hands-on operations, at least three in physician practice management or related field.
Experience managing patient satisfaction systems/processes, preferred.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge

Working knowledge of medical technology, EHR, practice management systems, medical insurance/health care payer systems and health care industry.
Working knowledge in computer use to include, but not limited to, word, excel and email as well as other forms of communication through technology.
Knowledge of planning and operational strategies to direct goals consistent with organizational needs.
Understanding of operational systems as they relate to physician group practices.

Equipment Operated:

Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, video/teleconferencing, etc.

Work Environment:

Position in a well lighted office environment. Frequent contract with a variety of people.
Travels 70 percent of the time.

Physical Requirements:

Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching.
Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, fax machine, and other office equipment.
Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.
