Window Treatment Decorator
Custom Decorators, Inc. (CDI) is the premiere in-home design service for major retailers in North America, specializing in custom-made window blinds, shutters, and drapery. We manage all aspects of our clients’ projects from the creative concept through the ordering process and installation. Job Summary
Custom Decorators, Inc. (CDI) has immediate opportunities for experienced design & sales professionals as in-home custom window treatment experts. We generate the leads for you and give you the freedom to schedule appointments when it works best for you and our clients. Our designers love the flexibility this job gives them for work-life balance.
Essential Job Functions

Conduct in-home design appointments alongside customers and match our premium collection of custom shades, drapes, blinds and shutters to customers’ style preferences and functional needs.
Close sales opportunities by building a genuine rapport with customers and demonstrate key features and benefits of our products and service offerings.
Use innovative digital selling tools and standards to measure, record, and configure specifications accurately and efficiently.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent is a requirement, college degree or some college coursework is preferred.
In-home or outside sales experience preferably in custom products/services.
Experience in a retail environment, preferably in home furnishings and décor.
Proficiency using computer software applications and ability to learn new technology and systems.
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance coverage.
Passion for design, sales and building lifetime customer relationships.

Job Conditions

FSLA exempt status; regular business hours include Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
When not servicing company-provided leads, work from comfort of home office
Job may require hours that exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week.
May require bending, stooping, lifting to 35 pounds (samples), although most of our samples are less than 10 pounds each and housed in a briefcase style carrying case.


Travel is mostly within 30 miles of your assigned geographic territory.
Mileage reimbursement paid monthly based upon current federal milage reimbursement rate.


A consistent flow of qualified leads comprised of consumers who are in the market for custom window treatments.

Competitive compensation, based 100% on commission earnings with no cap, ranging from an average of $50,000 per year for less skilled designers to $120,000 for exceptional designers.
