Director of Operations and Development- Hospitality & Real Estate Family Office
Family office based in Los Angeles is seeking a dynamic executive with corporate hospitality operations and real estate experience. This executive will work closely alongside Ownership and CFO to manage and protect assets, spearhead business development opportunities and strengthen a portfolio which includes several boutique hotels, restaurants, and residential and commercial leases. Portfolio also includes farming, cattle ranching and rental properties on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Our selected candidate will join a small tight knit team and participate in managing existing properties and partnerships, as well as developing new ones. Responsibilities will include optimizing efficiency and performance, quality control, brand strategy, streamlining administrative processes, managing risk and liability and translating strategy into actionable goals for growth and annual planning. Our ideal candidate is up to date on the latest industry trends, familiar with leading luxury lifestyle concepts and marketing trends, and is capable of spearheading development opportunities with an entrepreneurial, innovative and results driven mindset.
This leadership role requires highly skilled financial and operational analysis, strong legal acumen along with clear decision-making skills, excellent attention to detail and organization, and strong relationship management.
We are seeking a hands-on individual who enjoys working with ownership in a dynamic familial environment, has excellent written and verbal communication skills along with a positive, flexible and solution-oriented attitude. DUTIES WILL INCLUDE
Manage calendar with corporate team, setting short-term priorities and long-term goals, and drive completion of projects
Participate in reviewing and analyzing budgets and P and Ls
Enhance expense control strategy and performance of portfolio, prepare reports and forecasts as needed
Manage day to day administrative and operational functions with the corporate office team
Manage relationships and communication with key partners, tenants, vendors, etc. Review and negotiate leases and contracts and manage tenant accountabilities and quality control
Review bids, proposals and contracts, i.e construction, renovation, insurance, etc. Analyze internal operations, identify areas of process enhancements and savings Recruit, onboard and develop positions as needed
Maximize performance of current assets and manage transitions as needed
Propose and manage new partnerships and collaborations that align well with ownership goals, vet new opportunities for growth and perform feasibility studies as needed
Participate in business development projects, including planning, zoning, RFP’s
Spearhead technology driven efficiencies and solutions
Ensure adherence to company, local, federal and state requirements, ensuring compliance and taking action when necessary
Research and stay informed of government aid and programs with respect to various businesses in California, Hawaii and Washington DC
Participate in oversight of capital investments, stocks and bonds portfolio
Liaise with CPA to create a pro-active tax strategy and efficient planning
Liaise with legal counsel and insurance brokers as needed to minimize liability and manage risk
Liaise with bankers regarding loans and refinancing and prepare documents as needed
Network within our business communities and city government to spearhead owner initiatives
Follow economic, real estate and financial trends and challenges nationally and internationally Maintain excellent organization of filing systems and digital folders
